ABOUT US

Yangtze Commodities LLC (“YCOM”) is a modern international trading house specializing in the origination, marketing, and global distribution of agricultural commodities. We are headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, strategically positioned between Europe, the Black Sea region, and Asia, enabling us to serve as a reliable bridge between major producing regions and fast-growing consumer markets.

YCOM acts as a trader and principal in each transaction, bearing commercial risk and responsibility. This provides our counterparties with confidence, accountability, and clear alignment of interests.

Our core focus lies in the Black Sea region, with Ukraine as our primary origin. The country’s unique soil, climate, and large-scale farming make it one of the most competitive suppliers of grains and oilseeds globally. By working directly with Ukrainian farmers, cooperatives, and processing companies, we secure supply chains that are transparent, efficient, and cost-effective.

Our Core Business: Trading Agricultural Commodities

Trading is the DNA of YCOM. Our company focuses on the end-to-end flow of bulk and containerized agricultural goods, moving commodities from farms and processing plants to consumers worldwide. Our trading activities cover the following product groups:

  • Grains: wheat, corn, barley, sorghum;

  • Oilseeds: sunflower seeds, rapeseed, soybeans;

  • Feedstuffs: sunflower meal, soybean meal, rapeseed meal, wheat bran, SBPP;

  • Pulses: peas, chickpeas, lentils, beans;

  • Vegetable Oils: sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, soybean oil.

Each transaction is more than a shipment. It is the execution of a carefully structured supply chain involving farmers, logistics providers, surveyors, charterers, insurers, and buyers. By actively trading, YCOM captures value for both sides of the transaction and ensures seamless execution.

Why Ukraine Matters

Ukraine is the cornerstone of YCOM’s origination strategy. With its vast arable land, fertile black soil (chernozem), and advanced agricultural know-how, Ukraine has become one of the top global exporters of agricultural products.

At YCOM, we recognize that to succeed in the global agri-trade industry, one must be deeply connected to the source. That is why we maintain direct relationships with local producers and processors:

  • Farmers and cooperatives supplying grains and oilseeds straight from the field;

  • Crushing plants and processing facilities producing meals and vegetable oils;

  • Export terminals and river elevators along the Danube and Black Sea.

This integration allows us to:

  • Secure high-quality products at competitive prices;

  • Guarantee traceability and compliance with international standards;

  • Adapt quickly to market changes, logistical challenges, or regulatory shifts.

By anchoring our origination in Ukraine, we offer our clients the confidence of sourcing from one of the world’s most efficient agricultural suppliers.

Direct Sourcing

YCOM distinguishes itself by working without additional intermediaries. Our model is simple but powerful: we partner directly with those who grow and process the products.

This approach delivers several advantages:

  1. Transparency – We know exactly where the goods come from and under what conditions they are produced.

  2. Cost efficiency – By eliminating layers of middlemen, we offer better pricing to both farmers and buyers.

  3. Reliability – Long-term partnerships ensure supply even during turbulent times.

  4. Flexibility – We can adapt contracts, logistics, and quality specifications in cooperation with the actual producer.

Our presence at the ground level in Ukraine allows us to negotiate with producers face-to-face, inspect facilities, and supervise quality controls. Buyers benefit from first-hand supply chains rather than opaque structures often found in commodity trade.

Shipping and Logistics

Agricultural trade is not only about contracts but also about execution. YCOM is heavily involved in the logistical chain, ensuring that goods move smoothly from farms to destination.

  • Danube Ports (Izmail, Reni): These gateways allow Ukrainian cargoes to reach the Black Sea even under challenging circumstances.

  • Deep Sea Black Sea Ports (Odesa region): For larger Panamax and Handysize shipments.

  • Containerized Solutions: via Ukrainian and EU ports.

We charter vessels, supervise loading, and ensure all documentation is compliant with international trading rules (GAFTA, FOSFA). Our expertise in logistics transforms potential bottlenecks into competitive advantages for our clients.

Risk Management and Hedging

Commodity trading involves price volatility, currency fluctuations, and freight market risks. At YCOM, we employ professional risk management tools:

  • Hedging with futures and options (CBOT, MATIF);

  • Basis and flat price risk balancing;

  • Freight risk coverage through FFA and charter party clauses.

Our disciplined approach to risk allows us to honor commitments to buyers and sellers regardless of short-term market swings. This reliability is one of the reasons why clients repeatedly choose YCOM as their trading partner.

Global Presence, Local Expertise

YCOM operates from its base in the UAE but maintains an active network across multiple geographies:

  • Origination: Ukraine, Black Sea, Eastern Europe.

  • Markets: Mediterranean, Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.

  • Partners: International trading houses, regional importers, processors, and millers.

We combine the agility of a focused trading house with the reach of a global enterprise.

Corporate Values

At YCOM, we believe in three guiding principles:

  1. Integrity – Honoring commitments, respecting contracts, and conducting business transparently.

  2. Excellence – Constantly improving our execution standards, from negotiation to delivery.

  3. Partnership – Building long-term relationships with producers and buyers based on trust and mutual benefit.
